Engineering Services Examination (ESE): Overview
What is ESE?
ESE stands for Engineering Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year for the recruitment of various class A posts under the Government of India. The type of work performed by these bureaucrats largely depends on the stream in which they are selected. However, they can move to any cadre, organisation, agency, department, ministry or PSU of the Government of India These are the Civil Services that meet technical and managerial functions of Government of India. ESE 2018: Important Dates
The Notification will be published on 27th September 2017 and hence the online application for the examination will be started on the official website www.upsconline.nic.in. The last date for filling the form is 23rdOctober 2017. The Preliminary examination will be held on 7th January 2018 while Mains is scheduled at 1st July 2018.
ESE Exam Pattern
Engineering Services Examination is conducted in three stages i.e. Preliminary, Mains and Interview. To achieve your dream of getting into Engineering Services, you must clear all the stages and appear into final merit list. Preliminary is of objective type consisting of TWO papers. The first paper is of 200 marks. It is on General Engineering Aptitude and Studies which is common for all the branches. The second paper is carrying 300 marks and syllabus is specific to Engineering discipline. Both papers have negative marking of -0.33 marks for each wrong question. Mains is subjective type which also consists of TWO papers of 300 marks each. Syllabus is specific to the Engineering Discipline. The successful candidates in both the stages are called for the interview.

Why ESE is one of the toughest Exams ever…
Many of us aim for ESE but very very few are succeed. It needs constant efforts and extreme dedication to shoot the Engineering Services Examination.
